Jacobo Quintanilla is the director of humanitarian media at Internews, an international nonprofit organization focused on strengthening local media around the world. Previously, he ran Internews humanitarian projects in Sri Lanka and led the launching of Internews’ humanitarian media response to the January 2010 Haiti earthquake. He then became became the first coordinator of the Communicating With Disaster Affected Communities (CDAC) Network in Haiti, which brings together humanitarian and development agencies and media development organizations to integrate communications into humanitarian work. Quintanilla is also a board member of the Infoasaid project, an Internews/BBC World Service Trust initiative that aims at improving how aid agencies communicate with communities hurt by disasters.
